This is your last chance

Students at KMR

Dear Friends and Nature Lovers,

Our 2023 Environmental Education Camp welcomed 60 students from five local schools for an unforgettable overnight experience at the Karen Mogensen Reserve, where eager minds explored the wonders of the rich biodiversity in our area and took an active part in a crash course on the natural landscape they live in and the environmental conservation happening in and around it.

Thanks in huge part to your donations and the tireless effort of our volunteer experts, the students, aged 13 to 17, embarked on enlightening forest hikes and engaged in diverse workshops. From a forest firefighting rally, to bird-watching tours, to a nocturnal hike spotting animals, they delved into the vital role forests play in maintaining ecological harmony, fostering a deep appreciation for the world around them.

As we celebrate the success of this transformative experience, we're reminded that these impactful initiatives rely on your support. Without the generosity of individuals like you, our ability to host these camps and provide invaluable environmental education hangs in the balance. However, the stakes are even higher. The same forests that allowed these students to flourish during our camp are under the looming threat of development.

The natural destruction happening in our area has been accelerating at an unprecedented rate. The funds we raise directly contribute to safeguarding the very ecosystems that sustain us all. Without your support, the looming specter of agricultural expansion and urbanization could irreversibly alter this pristine landscape.
